Run Squad
Run squad is at a few places in the inner west of Melbourne. We change location every week or so, to focus on different on things. We run hills of Farnsworth Ave (Footscray) to develop strength and your ability to run uphill. We run the flats of Newport and Spotswood to increase your speed. We run the streets of Yarraville and Seddon to work on tempo and fartlek running. At Williamstown we run the sand to develop ankle strength and speed work.
Run squad is an about 15-20 people consistently, probably about 10 each time. We are casual runners who like to work on our running, but most importantly we are friends. The people you run with at Run Squad are there because side they want to run as a group, and be held to account to keep running. We encourage each other. When you feel like it’s hard to get out of bed, you will turn up because you don’t want to let your mate down. You will turn up because your friends will be there. You will run just to make sure you can keep up on the next run. We are aged from 30+ to 60+ mostly. We’re not elite. We’re not going to win the next marathon race. But we’re going to have fun when we run with our mates next time.
We would love for you to join us. If you’re outside the age group I mentioned - so what. If you’re not running regularly- we will help you. Most importantly you will join a great group who will support you to whatever goal you have. We’ve done marathons, ultra marathons, half marathons and every distance In between.
Most importantly - we love running with each other. (Some of us don’t even like running - but we do it because we like running with this group). (RD does like running, but some do it because they know it’s good for them).
